Smartronix DoD Cloud Assessment Initiatives

DoD and DISA CIOs have extensive policy and compliance documents regarding rules for .mil and commercial cloud solutions; and the compliance and security standards, acquisition, and technical architectures that must be met to implement a cloud solution.

Smartronix provides cloud assessment and engineering services for existing on-premises DoD systems to determine how to migrate that system to the cloud in compliance with complex DoD security policies and standards. We conduct the mandatory DoD Commercial Cloud Business Case Analysis which is approved by the system Mission Owner and registered with the DoD CIO. Once this is done we build the solution, migrate the system(s) to the cloud, and provide Impact Levels 2 and 4 (IL2/IL4) managed services and security services to support the new cloud-based environment.

One of the key criteria of DoD policy is a Cloud Access Point (CAP) to access commercial cloud services (if IL/4 system as defined by the DISA SRG). Our expertise extends beyond just the cloud component of a solution to include the entire IT enterprise architecture required to support most DoD systems. We also have expertise integrating cloud-based solutions or components with on-premises capabilities in hybrid architectures.

Currently, through our relationship with AWS as a Premier Partner, we are providing the only DoD CIO approved Impact Level 4 commercial cloud infrastructure (IaaS) based on the DISA Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CSRG).
